Illusive Dream
By: Ad L. Masigla
The grass rejoice with the break of dawn,
For the sun shall shine once more,
Its' blades smile, oh morning dew,
With colors gleam afore,
To seek the warmth of thy embrace,
That heart that I adore,
But finds you not, ‘till twilight come,
‘Till darkness reigns and fall.
/1964. PMI-Manila
This poem was written on a sick bed in the company hospital sometime early
1964 or late 1963 while the author was recuperating from a work related accident.
After a week in the hospital, he would scape limping at night to attend classes as
a senior student at PMI Colleges, Manila taking Associate in Nautical Science and
would sneak back to the hospital bed after classes. He was a working student
and had a very stiff time schedules between work and school.
