A Space in Time
By Adelino L. Masigla
(A poem written to self motivate the author while reviewing
for the board exam for 3rd. Marine Officer May 1966
The only way you'll understand,
How wise to keep a space in time,
Is when you browse and look behind,
The memories of days gone by.
As time travels we move with it,
What you have done in past is kept,
The present has its' way to think,
Thought has the past of time in space.
You ought to know what causes what,
In its' true sense how moments wrap,
The truth that time is not your clock,
But precious cuts and gems of life.
Its' worth therefore is up to you,
Your present deeds are its' value,
That tags in space each time anew,
Cannot rewind, nor can undo.
Your space in time is yours to own,
No one can take no one can loan,
A page in life others had known,
That shall remain beyond sojourn.
Seek out while young until you find,
Reach for the best then let it shine,
Remember that your space in time,
Is yours to mark and no not mine.
To self motivate, this poem was written by the author one afternoon ,as the sun
was setting, behind the Quirino Grandstand, Luneta Park, Manila while the author
was reviewing for board examination for 3rd Marine Officer in May of 1966.
