The Rules
By Adelino L. Masigla

The rules are laws expressly made,
To be followed by all concerned,
It shall be wise for one to heed,
Than be a fool and take the risk.

For rules are here since time began,
Even before the birth of man,
The basics are for us to find,
What causes what? lets' understand.

While man is clothed with entity,
A brain to shape his destiny,
To reign upon explicitly,
All things in air, on land and sea.

And what we do at present time,
Result of which we'll surely find,
Causation chain shall take its line,
Our current deeds, tomorrow's wine.

The gravity is Natures law,
For what comes up, we ought know,
Don't be amazed for it is true,
It must come down, beneath, below.

You must believe, in this model,
That water seeks its own level,
Its force depends on height over,
Cascades beneath and down under.

As to the man, the rules are same,
Social upkeep shall be in vain,
As we all seek each levels gain,
Never balance, never in plane.

As unlike poles always attract,
Its reason why we have to crack,
Applied to man, bid us good luck,
And wish for peace, to find its track.

Environment is something more,
Where rules abound for man to chore,
To disregard we must recall,
Is to narrow tomorrow's door.

Because of rules all things exist,
Misfortune comes yet we subsist,
What thus govern we can't resist,
By rules only, we may desist.

All rules are filled with webs of “if”,
Series of opts to choose and live,
The fate we take is ours to heave,
What comes of us, what we deserve.

As long as we remain unkeen,
To search the truth so man shall learn,
What causes what up ten times ten,
Eternal peace shall be unseen.
As District Commander of 5th-Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary District the author
was inpired to write this poem. The author believes that nothing in the universe in
general and on earth in particular that is not governed by intricate sets of rules in
order to exist. This include absolutely everything and anything, no matter what and
no matter where.
Nature may obey a person's command, however, the question is finding, then
understanding the governing rules.
